Welcome to BFG
Building for the Future Generation is a non-governmental organization based in Agona Swedru, Ghana. The organization was founded back in 2009 when a group of friends embarked on a 5 day work camp with the community of Agona Bobikuma. The focus of the camp was to help restore one of the primary schools in the area. The impact of the project was so great that it motivated us to want to find more schools in need of help. The organization was first called Affect Ghana and it was later renamed in 2014 to Building for Future Generation. Our main goal is to renovate and build schools in rural areas because we believe that only an intact working school can provide the framework for a quality education. Over the past years the organization has built and restored over 10 primary schools in deprived areas and countless number of social awareness projects. We believe education is one of the main pillars of alleviating poverty.
In addition, BFG is involved in campaigns to raise awareness on social and environmental issues like environmental degradation, malaria, HIV/AIDS and much more. We have found that many locals aren’t educated on such issues and strongly believe that by providing information and by having a conversation we can positively influence the beliefs and attitudes to create a change in the community. BFG also invests into projects that provide employment for locals and helps sustains the organization to continue to carry on with projects in the community.
