Agona Bobikuma is found in the Agona West District, and is about a 20 minutes drive from Agona Swedru, with a population of about 15,000 people. The main occupation in the town is farming; the average farm size is 2 acres. Bobikuma is known for its cocoa, plantain, corn and cassava farms. The community has many social amenities such as a clinic, schools, police station, running water, electricity and so on.
Aside all the above, Bobikuma is one of the poorest towns in the district with high illiteracy rates and teenage pregnancy.
BFG was founded in Bobikuma when we renovated our first school (Bobikuma Catholic School) in 2010. Since then we have been to the town to build the BFG computer laboratory and social awareness projects like sex education, brushing of teeth, hygiene and so on.
As at 2015, we have two on-going projects in Bobikuma; they are the BFG computer laboratory and the Green Project. Due to the love we have for the town, we like to help them with necessary social amenities, and have built them a vital bridge and so on. Also the projects we are running in the town provide employment for at least 20 people on a daily basis.
