BFGGHANA Impact Tour 2025
The BFGGHANA Impact Tour 2025 was a journey of learning, culture, community, and adventure. Participants had the opportunity to experience Ghana beyond the usual tourist attractions by exploring its cities, natural beauty, traditions, and the communities where BFGGHANA works.
Accra – The Capital of Ghana
The tour began in Accra, Ghana’s capital city, with an orientation session to prepare participants for the journey ahead. Visitors explored the city’s history, culture, and vibrant lifestyle through visits to places such as the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence Square, local markets, beaches, and other popular attractions. They also experienced the energy of Accra’s food, music, and nightlife.
Hohoe – Exploring the Beauty of the Volta Region
Participants travelled to Hohoe in the Volta Region, a place known for its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality. The group visited the Wli Waterfalls, climbed Mount Afadjato, and spent time at the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, experiencing the natural beauty and traditions of the region.
Nsawam – Tale Beer factory
The tour continued to Nsawam, where participants visited a local beer factory and learned about the brewing process, from production to packaging. It was an opportunity to see part of Ghana’s manufacturing industry and understand how local products are made.
Agona Swedru – BFGGHANA Office and Cocoa Farm Experience
In Agona Swedru, participants visited the BFGGHANA office to learn more about the organisation’s work in education, community development, agriculture, and sustainability.
They also visited the BFGGHANA cocoa farm in Bobikuma, where they were taken through the journey of cocoa, from harvesting the cocoa pods, fermenting and drying the beans, to the process of turning cocoa beans into chocolate. The experience gave participants a better understanding of cocoa production and the important role agriculture plays in Ghana’s economy.
Community Visits and Cultural Experiences
As part of the Impact Tour, participants visited Small London Primary School, one of BFGGHANA’s previous education projects. The visit gave them the opportunity to interact with the school staff and pupils while learning more about the impact of creating better learning environments for children in local communities.
During the visit, BFGGHANA donated football jerseys, footballs, and other sports items to support the students and encourage their participation in sports activities. The experience allowed participants to connect with the school community and see firsthand the importance of supporting education and child development.
Narkwa D/A Basic School – Groundbreaking ceremony
Participants joined BFGGHANA at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new classroom block at Narkwa D/A Basic School. The ceremony brought together the District Chief Executive (DCE), representatives from the District Education Office, the Chief of Narkwa, parents, teachers, community members, and other distinguished guests.
The event marked the beginning of a project aimed at improving the learning environment for children in the community. It was also an opportunity for participants to witness the collaboration between BFGGHANA, local authorities, school leaders, and the community in working towards better educational opportunities for children.
Nzulezu – A Journey to the West
The journey continued to the Western Region, where participants explored the peaceful wetlands around Nzulezu. Using canoes as their means of transport, they paddled through the waterways to visit small surrounding villages and experienced the beauty of Ghana’s natural environment.
The experience offered participants a closer look at rural life, the importance of the wetlands to local communities, and the traditional way of using waterways as part of everyday life in the area.
The BFGGHANA Impact Tour 2025 was more than a trip; it was an opportunity to connect with Ghana’s people, culture, environment, and the communities that inspire our work.
