Volunteer

We offer several meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals who are interested in contributing their time and skills in areas such as education, agriculture, construction, and social awareness.

Building and Renovation Projects
Each year, we undertake one building or renovation project, as these projects usually take about a year to fully fund and complete. Volunteers involved in this area may assist with activities such as basic building work, carpentry, and painting, depending on the stage of the project.

Education
Volunteers in this area should have basic teaching experience. Teaching opportunities are available in subjects such as ICT, Creative Arts, Mathematics, Science, French, and English at community schools supported by BFGGHANA. This is a rewarding way to share your knowledge while engaging with students and teachers.

BFGGHANA Farms
To help sustain the organization, BFGGHANA has introduced a mixed farming project aimed at long-term sustainability. The farm includes vegetation and livestock rearing. We welcome volunteers with experience or interest in organic farming and veterinary services.

Social Awareness Program
This is a two-week outreach program focused on educating community members on important social and health issues such as HIV/AIDS, environmental degradation, personal hygiene, malaria prevention, and related topics. Activities take place in local communities, schools, and clinics, and we work closely with the Ghana Health Service on this program.

Program Cost
Program fees depend on the length of stay and the volunteer’s area of interest, so costs are confirmed once these details are known. The fee covers accommodation, meals, and airport pick-up and drop-off only. Volunteers are responsible for their own airfare, as well as any costs related to passports, visas, and required vaccinations. As part of the program, volunteers will tour our cocoa farm to learn about the farming process and enjoy a guided hike to one of the highest points in Bobikuma, Ghana.

Important Note
All visitors entering Ghana are required to have a yellow fever vaccination and must present proof upon arrival.
