Obaatanpa Initiative

This Initiative is fully funded by BFG office as part of the organization’s commitment to promoting economic empowerment and sustainable community development.

All funds disbursed under this programme are provided by BFGGHANA through its internally generated resources and fundraising efforts. The organization receives no repayment interest or financial gain from beneficiaries. Instead, repayments are returned to the programme’s revolving fund so that other deserving women can also benefit from the same opportunity.

Beneficiaries

The Obaatanpa Initiative is intended for women who:

• Live in Agona Swedru or its surrounding communities.
• Have a genuine business idea or already own a small business that needs financial support to grow.
• Are willing to work hard and manage their businesses responsibly.
• Are committed to improving their family’s livelihood through entrepreneurship.

Priority may be given to widows, single mothers, women with disabilities, unemployed women, and women from low-income households, provided they meet the programme requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be a resident of Agona Swedru or a nearby community.

Amount of Financial Support

Successful applicants may receive up to GHS 3,000 as an interest-free business support fund, depending on the nature and needs of their business. The exact amount awarded will be determined after reviewing each application.

Repayment Plan

The Obaatanpa Initiative operates as a revolving fund, meaning every beneficiary helps another woman by repaying the amount received.

Each beneficiary agrees to pay GHS 20 per day to BFGGHANA until the full amount received has been repaid. No interest will be charged at any stage.

The money repaid will be used to support new beneficiaries, allowing more women to receive financial assistance to start or grow their businesses. This creates a continuous cycle of empowerment, ensuring the programme benefits many women for years to come.
